Duvalay has partnered up with another comfort loving, power duo; who will distribute its dreamy brand of bedtime luxury throughout New Zealand, the land of the long white cloud.
Lynda and Chris Barker, like Liz and Alan Colleran, are a northern husband and wife team with a passion for business. The partners met at a training conference and later married in Lynda’s childhood village, Burscough, in 2004.
Lynda, who was born and raised in Lancashire, has enjoyed a career encompassing accounting, retail and territory sales, operations and business management. Yorkshire man Chris has a strong sales background, having worked within the retail and B2C sectors, key and national account management.
Since relocating to Auckland more than eight years ago, the Barkers have travelled extensively; enjoying New Zealand’s stunning scenery, cuisine, world-class wine, and even the occasional bungee jump.
New Zealand’s travel and leisure industry is booming. Auckland, the ‘city of sails,’ boasts more boats per capita than anywhere else in the world; while a massive number of campsites and motorhome parks provides the perfect leisure option for a wide range of domestic and international travellers.
Their new partnership with Duvalay means the Barkers, who have owned and managed a string of successful businesses throughout their relationship, are poised to make their mark upon New Zealand’s growing leisure industry.
Lynda Barker commented: “Duvalay’s reputation is already well established throughout New Zealand and, as keen travellers, we’ve had an interest in the brand since we first saw Liz and Alan Colleran’s pitch on Dragons’ Den.
“Since then, we have fallen in love with the New Zealand lifestyle, and we know that New Zealand will fall in love with Duvalay’s luxury, must have products.”
Duvalay’s range will be available from August, for direct purchase through the Barkers’ website and via e-commerce site ‘Trade Me’, as well as through camping, recreational vehicle and marine specialist retailers throughout New Zealand.
The Barkers are looking forward to coordinating official launches at this year’s Auckland Home Show, Auckland on Water Boat Show, and Christchurch Motorhome and Caravan Shows.
