Check Existing Measurements

While we are confident that the drawings are accurate, it’s important that you verify the shape and dimensions against your own bed area before approving the drawing.
If we don’t have your exact make or model on file, our team will find the closest available drawing. Often, manufacturers use the same bed area across multiple years and models, so this drawing can serve as a reliable starting point. You’ll have the opportunity to check everything and ensure its correct. Our CAD team is happy to make any necessary adjustments. Once you’re satisfied with the shape and size of your bed, we will proceed with production of your custom mattress.
Account for Mattress Depth
When selecting your mattress, it’s essential to consider its depth, particularly if there are features like wardrobes, doors, or other elements that need to open over the bed area. For drop-down beds, also measure the clearance to ensure the mattress allows for proper functionality without obstruction.
Take care to measure the space carefully to ensure the mattress fits perfectly and does not interfere with the movement of any other parts of your caravan or motorhome. This step is especially important to ensure ease of use and comfort in tight spaces.
How to Measure Your Caravan Mattress
The CAD drawings we send will give you a good indication of which measurements are required. To ensure the best fit for your custom mattress, follow these steps:
- Measure the Width and Length
Using a tape measure, start by measuring the bed’s width and length at its widest and longest parts. These are the most basic dimensions you’ll need. - Measure Cutouts and Curves
If your bed has any cutouts or unique shapes, follow the same process to measure these areas. Carefully measure the length and width at different points to ensure all dimensions are captured accurately. - Island Beds
For island beds, check if the foot end is flat or if the curve continues all the way around. To measure a curve, the best way is to work up the centre of the mattress and take the width of the bed area every 10cm until the widths even out. This will help you map out the exact curve of the bed. See diagram below:
