Duvalay announces expansion with move to new £1.2m factory

We have some exciting news to share with you all...

We have officially moved into our new state-of-the-art factory. While the original move date had to be delayed due to the lockdown in March, we were finally able to transfer over our full operations earlier this month (September 2020).

This will provide us with the extra space to continue to innovate on the latest sleep products for both the home and leisure markets, but it will also allow us to increase our output and reduce delivery lead times for both our retail and consumer customers.

Our new four-acre site is based on Station Lane in Heckmondwike which means we continue to be in the heart of Yorkshire and in the centre of the area that has come to be associated with high-end mattress manufacturing.

Liz Colleran, Co-Founder, says: “Wow! What a journey we have been on. As proven innovators, it’s time for us to fully lean into all of the exciting opportunities that are out there. So, after leasing for more than 15 years, we have taken the decision to purchase our first factory.

“The extra space in the new factory has allowed us to move onto a double-shift pattern for most of our employees. Over the course of the next few months we hope to be able to recruit from our local region. We have ambitious growth plans over the next three years and this new factory will help us to ensure we can facilitate those plans.

“The new factory has also come at the right time for us as it is nearly double the size of our previous one. This means we are able to offer our workers an improved working environment as it providess more space for social distancing.”

We know the last few months have been incredibly tough for a lot of our customers but we also wanted to take this opportunity to say thank you for sticking with us, not only in the last six months but also the last 15 years! We are excited to share the next part of our journey with you and we hope you continue to love Duvalay as much as we do.

Liz & Alan.
