Duvalay in bid to crack US leisure market

Award-winning sleep specialists Duvalay have granted exclusive distribution rights to its first ever US-based partner.

A ground-breaking order was shipped to Atlanta, GA after the Duvalay Sleeping Bags debuted at the 2017 Las Vegas Market – the largest furniture, home décor and gift tradeshow in the West of the US.

The BBC Dragons’ Den stars have now formalised their exciting new partnership with Georgia-based Disc-O-Bed, who are makers of versatile bed bunks for indoor and outdoor usage – signing a deal that has brought their flagship product to the US market.

“Virgin tycoon Sir Richard Branson said: ‘Everyone should have a Duvalay’, and we’re proud to have sold over a million since we perfected our initial design concept on our family kitchen table!” says Sales & Marketing Director Liz Colleran.

“After successfully establishing the brand in Europe, the United States was always our next frontier, which is why my husband Alan and I flew out there to secure a retail partner who shared our passion for designing high-quality solutions to common camping headaches.

‘We found our perfect match in Disc-O-Bed, who have created an innovative modular disc bed system that’s particularly popular with RV owners, but can also be used at children’s sleepovers, by the military and even in disaster relief zones. Troubled by the insomnia and back pain so often associated with caravanning and camping, Dewsbury couple Liz and Alan first hit upon the idea of an innovative, superior, comfort-enhancing mattress topper in 2003. Consequently, Duvalay's portable memory foam was born after extensive design and testing.

An immediate success upon launch, their ‘hero’ product helped secure an investment from ‘Dragon’ Hilary Devey CBE in 2011.
