Duvalay has recently launched an innovative, eco-friendly mattress range filled with recycled Coca-Cola bottles.
Fresh from their ‘Manufacturing Innovation’ success at the Made in Yorkshire Awards 2019, Wooltec is Duvalay’s brand-new collection of pocket sprung mattresses combining traditional craftsmanship and natural fillings with new and innovative manufacturing techniques.
In addition to luxurious lambswool fibres – blended vertically for extra resilience and breathability – WoolTec mattresses all contain sumptuous pressure-relieving white fibre made from recycled Coca-Cola bottles. Incredibly, each Wooltec mattress saves 21 plastic bottles from entering landfill or the ocean.
“This is an innovative way to reduce single-use plastic and promote a great night’s sleep,” says Liz Colleran, Sales & Marketing Director at Duvalay.
“We first developed this technology for the leisure vehicle sector – making the world’s lightest caravan mattress. Now, eco-conscious consumers can sleep soundly on a WoolTec mattress for the home.”
The range consists of three models, each with different comfort feels. The Wooltec 2000 is a softer-feel mattress due to its soft body contouring mini pocket springs, whilst the Wooltec 1500 offers extra support and a firmer-feel. Alternatively, the sumptuous medium-feel Wooltec 1000 is a great all-rounder.
Every Wooltec mattress is quilted in a soft and breathable organic cotton cover, which is better for the environment, the climate and the health of the people involved in harvesting.
Nothing is sacrificed in terms of comfort and our mattresses can be vacuum rolled and delivered direct to customers’ homes in a cardboard box if required – reducing packaging by more than 50 percent.
WoolTec is the third mattress collection to be launched by Duvalay, who were crowned ‘Bed Manufacturer of the Year’ (under £10m) at The Bed Show Awards 2017-18 and were Highly Commended in the ‘Small Bed Manufacturer of the Year’ (under £10m) category in 2018-19.
